CAPS Group provides compliance solutions for the Canadian anti-spam legislation.
CAPS Group collects information by various methods, primarily by information actively provided by its customers and potential customers, and information arising from the emails flowing through its service.
The types of personal information we collect include basic information about our contacts with our customers and potential customers. We may record calls to or from our customer service representatives for purposes of accuracy, performance reviews and training.
CAPS Group’s service as an outbound mail filter solution by nature means that CAPS Group’s systems will read and take actions based on the email addresses of recipients and senders. We maintain records of email addresses and permissions, and of the email traffic. CAPS Group retains the email messages themselves only for the brief time required to process them.
This information is used to provide our services, including keeping records for its customer’s compliance purposes.
CAPS Group may use aggregate, anonymous or statistical information (not including the contents of any emails flowing through the service) which will not be linked to identified individuals for various other uses for itself and third parties.
CAPS Group does not share personal information with any third parties except as disclosed in this policy. CAPS Group may provide personal information to its consultants, subcontractors and professional advisers (which shall be bound by privacy obligations) to assist CAPS Group’s uses disclosed herein.
Personal information is protected by security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.
Individuals may review their personal information contained in CAPS Group files by contacting the CAPS Group privacy officer. Personal information contained in CAPS Group records that pertain to email information retained for CAPS Group customer use must be reviewed with CAPS Group’s customer, not CAPS Group. If an individual believes that any of their personal information is inaccurate, we will make appropriate corrections.
CAPS Group may amend this policy from time to time by posting an updated version on our website. If such amendments affect how CAPS Group uses or discloses personal information already held by CAPS Group in a material way, CAPS Group will obtain consent.
This policy was last updated on April 20, 2018.
Notwithstanding the general terms of this policy, the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information may be made outside of the terms herein to the extent provided for in any applicable privacy or other legislation in effect from time to time, or pursuant to court orders.
